How To Take Beautiful Wedding Photos

Many people ask me how to get great shot of weddings in digital photography and what advice can I give. My answer is this- “it depends on what outcome you are trying to achieve in your digital photography to begin with”.

You digital wedding photography depends on where the wedding is held, what time of day or night you are shooting it, whether its indoors or outdoors, how close you can get to the guests, what look and feel you want on your photos……the list goes on! The fact is that wedding digital photography is just like any other digital photography- its all about light.

The fact is that just because it’s a wedding you are shooting with your digital camera, doesn’t mean all the other principles don’t apply. The same rules about indoor lighting, outdoor lighting, portraits, flash, social indiscretion and exposures always apply in digital photography. There is not “one” thing you must do in order to get sensational shots of weddings in digital photography, there are a whole lot of things. And with the information about digital photography techniques around today you have enough information to go on.

You might be shooting in black and white during the day. Or you might be shooting in full colour in dim light in a church on a winters evening. Or perhaps you are shooting a beach wedding right in the middle of summer with all its hard light challenges. So as you can see there are so many variables for wedding digital photography. And it always depends on your light.
